The R15 and MT-15 share the XSR 155’s deltabox frame beneath the skin. It has 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, and 282 mm front and 220 mm rear discs for braking. It also comes with traction control and a dual-channel ABS, upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock that handles suspension responsibilities.

Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology powers a 155 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that powers the motorcycle. With vigorous top-end performance and powerful mid-range pull, the motor produces 18.1 horsepower at 10,000 rpm and 14.2 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. An assist-and-slipper clutch is standard on the unit, which is coupled to a six-speed gearbox.
The XSR 155 is marketed as a high-end entry-level motorbike that falls between middleweight capacity throwback roadsters and performance commuters. It competes with the Honda CB350RS, TVS Ronin, and Royal Enfield Hunter 350. It is well equipped to become one of the most captivating and approachable vehicles in its class thanks to its powerful yet lively 155 cc engine, tested chassis, high-end equipment, and neo-retro aesthetic.

It is offered in two accessory packages (Scrambler and Cafe Racer) and four colour schemes (Metallic Grey, Vivid Red, Greyish Green Metallic, and Metallic Blue). It also receives a swingarm made of aluminium.
