Seven New Nameplates in the Works
Seven of Tata’s planned launches will be completely original nameplates across a range of market niches and price points. The Avinya electric range, the Sierra’s comeback, and a small SUV that is rumoured to be named Scarlet are all reportedly in the works. The models under four meters are of special interest, and that is what we are concentrating on here.
Third-Generation Nexon (Garud)
Reports say, in addition to the platform enhancements, Tata is moving forward with the third-generation Nexon, known internally as Garud. The upcoming SUV is anticipated to employ a substantially updated X1 chassis, which should improve handling and ride quality. The Nexon is expected to undergo a thorough redesign, both inside the cabin and outside.
Redesigned Exterior and Upgraded Cabin
The outside of the new generation SUV may be more expressive, and the materials, layout, and features inside should all be noticeably improved. Customers may anticipate major improvements to the infotainment system and instrument cluster in addition to new equipment, such as Level 2 ADAS. However, it can still be a few years until the launch in India occurs.
Tata Punch Facelift in Development

Tata’s Punch has been seen wearing thick disguise on several occasions in recent months, suggesting that a mid-life update is in the works. To remain competitive and maintain high sales in India’s entry-level SUV market, the micro-SUV is anticipated to receive a more streamlined exterior design and a more upscale feature set.
Punch EV as Inspiration
The Punch EV seems to be a major source of inspiration for the facelifted Punch. Tata is apparently planning a revamped Punch EV for 2026, and the upgraded petrol version may arrive in stores before the year is out. This will keep one of India’s best-selling electric vehicles competitive in a market that is expanding quickly.
All-New Tata Scarlet SUV
According to reports, Tata is working on a new small SUV that it hopes to name Scarlet. According to early sources, it will maximise cabin space by emulating the next Sierra’s boxy proportions and towering pillars. It is anticipated that the Scarlet will target the rapidly expanding small SUV market.

PPX Saying
With a lineup that combines petrol, hybrid, and electric drivetrains, Tata Motors is positioned to dominate the market for compact SUVs and small cars. With Level 2 ADAS, the third-generation Nexon (Garud) will offer major improvements, while Tata will continue to lead the entry-SUV market thanks to the Punch makeover and redesigned Punch EV. In the meantime, Tata’s position in the rapidly expanding sub-compact SUV market will be reinforced with the brand-new Scarlet SUV.
