However, the sub-four-meter SUV segment, where Tata has observed the most demand, is the main focus. The next-generation Nexon, which will get a total makeover, will lead the group. Inside Tata’s development circles, the new Nexon is referred to as “Garud.” It will use a significantly updated X1 platform.

Along with a brand-new cabin that is said to have better fit, finish, and ergonomics, a thorough design upgrade is also planned. With the addition of Level 2 ADAS technology, a redesigned digital display, and an enhanced infotainment system, buyers can anticipate a more upscale cabin. The market debut might not happen until 2027.

With nearly 30 models that are either new or drastically upgraded, the brand’s product plan is undoubtedly one of its most ambitious to date. As part of this approach, Tata intends to launch seven new nameplates, including the much-anticipated Sierra revival, the futuristic Avinya EV series, and a brand-new small SUV that is internally code-named “Scarlet.”

According to reports, the facelifted Punch EV will be available in 2026. In addition to these upgrades, the domestic company is developing the Scarlet, a new small SUV that will be positioned in Tata’s lineup between the Punch and Nexon. Taking style inspiration from the future Sierra, the Scarlet is anticipated to have an upright profile and a boxier stance.

In the meantime, the Punch, Tata’s smallest SUV, is getting ready for a mid-cycle makeover. Heavy camouflage has already been seen on test vehicles, suggesting that the Punch EV served as inspiration for design changes. By the end of this year, the updated petrol version with new features and a new design could make its premiere.
