The sub-four-meter models once again served as the foundation for Tata’s passenger car sales, as they always have. Tata’s EV portfolio, meanwhile, achieved a significant milestone. During this festive period, more than 10,000 electric devices found homes, a 37% increase over the previous year.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director & CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., discussed the new milestone: “Over the 30-day period from Navratri to Diwali, we have achieved a landmark milestone with over 1 lakh vehicle deliveries, reflecting a robust 33% growth compared to the same period last year. Our SUVs continue to lead this momentum — with the Nexon registering over 38,000 retails, an impressive 73% growth, while the Punch clocked 32,000 units, growing 29% year-on-year.”

Because of its wide range, it still holds a dominant position in the small SUV market. Last month, it was also the most shipped PV in India. Conversely, The Punch saw strong sales and deliveries, with almost 32,000 units delivered, up about 29% from the previous year.
Demand had previously exceeded supply, but Tata anticipated this by coordinating manufacturing schedules well in advance of the festive season in 2025. As a result, the most popular models experienced shorter wait times and faster deliveries. The business anticipates that the current momentum will continue into FY2026 with new product introductions in both the ICE and EV categories.

This year, the brand benefited from its preparedness on the ground. In order to prepare for the influx of customers, dealers had greater inventory, logistics ran more smoothly, and retail events were scheduled in advance.
