Strong Debut for New Maruti Victoris

There has been positive feedback about the new Maruti Victoris. Over 25,000 reservations have been made, and the wait time has been increased to about ten weeks. Sales of 4,261 units were attributed to this new addition to the company’s repertoire last month. While the S-Presso has seen high demand, sales of the XL6 also dropped precipitously to 2,170 units. With 1,774 units sold, S-Presso sales increased 4% year over year from 1,708 units sold in September 2024, and it had significant month-to-month improvements of 33% from 1,333 units sold in August. Jimny (296 units), Celerio (1,033 units), and Ignis (1,704 units) all reported YoY and MoM drops in sales, while Invicto’s sales also dropped to 215 units.

Declining Sales in Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, and Eeco

Demand for Vitara Brezza and Maruti Ertiga fell to 10,173 and 12,115 units, respectively, last month, with both reporting double-digit YoY and MoM declines. The Eeco van was lower on the sales list. Last month, sales fell precipitously to 10,035 units.

Mixed Performance Across Other Popular Models

Swift’s sales at No. 2 fell to 15,547 copies, a 4% YoY decrease from 16,241 units sold in September 2024. However, compared to 12,385 units in August 2025, MoM sales climbed by 26%. Dzire Leads the Quarter with Strong Growth

This quarter’s top performer was the Dzire, which sold 57,442 units and grew by an astounding 73.4% YoY to become Maruti’s best-selling vehicle for the quarter. While the Ertiga, Swift, and Wagon R experienced slight decreases as a result of changing demand patterns following GST pricing revisions and supply adjustments, the Baleno and Fronx also displayed encouraging trends with moderate gains of 5.9% and 5%, respectively.

Quarterly Performance Review for Q3 2025

In Q3 2025, Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported total sales of 4,01,875 units, a 5.55% year-over-year decrease from Q3 2024’s 4,25,501 units. With over 38% of the Indian passenger car market, the brand remains dominant despite the general decline, driven by high demand for the Dzire, Ertiga, Wagon R, and Swift.

Maruti’s Future Plans for Growth and Electrification

With a robust and varied inventory that includes hatchbacks, sedans, MPVs, and SUVs, Maruti continues to dominate the market despite the downturn. The company’s next hybrid models and EV plans, which are scheduled to launch in 2026, are anticipated to help its next growth phase.

Models Facing Steep Declines

But important models like the Alto, Grand Vitara, and Brezza had steep year-over-year drops of 31.3%, 37.9%, and 23%, respectively. The Ciaz’s sharp 91% decline was a reflection of Maruti’s waning interest in the sedan market. In the meantime, losses from previous models were partially offset by the newly released Victoris, which made an impression with 4,261 units.
