Year-over-Year and Month-on-Month Comparison
In September 2025, the company sold 1,32,821 units, representing an 8.38% year-over-year decline. In September 2024, there were 1,44,962 units sold. In August 2025, 131,278 units were sold, representing a slight increase of 1.17% month-over-month (MOM).
Utility Vehicle Segment Performance
The utility vehicle market, which includes models like the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Victoris, Grand Vitara, XL6, Jimny, and Invicto, is one of the most well-known. 48,695 units were contributed by this segment, which is less than the 61,549 units from the prior year. The utility vehicle segment shows a similar pattern from April to September.
Passenger Vehicle Decline
The company sold 1,32,821 units in September 2025, a decrease of 8.38% from the previous year. A total of 1,44,962 units were sold in September 2024. With 1,31,278 units sold in August 2025, the MOM front saw a minor increase of 1.17%.

Surge in Exports
Speaking of exports, in September 2025, Maruti Suzuki sent 42,204 units to foreign markets. With 27,728 exports in September 2024, the export numbers showed a notable increase. Exports during the April–September period were 2,07,459 units, which represents a significant increase over the 1,48,276 units produced during the same period the previous year.
Domestic PV + LCV and OEM Sales
With the Super Carry as the only product in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) sector, the total domestic sales (PV+LCV) were 1,35,711 units (1,48,061 units in September 2024). In addition, 11,750 units were sold to other OEMs, which includes the quantities that were delivered to Toyota. From 1,56,999 units in September 2024 to 1,47,461 units in September 2025, the combined domestic sales of PV, LCV, and OEM fell.
Overall Sales Growth Driven by Exports
When accounting for domestic figures and overall domestic sales (PV + LCV + sales to other OEMs), Maruti Suzuki saw a year-over-year gain of 2.67% with 1,89,665 units sold in September 2025. In September 2024, these figures totalled 1,84,727 units.

The sales pattern for Maruti Suzuki in September 2025 is not entirely consistent. Exports served as a robust buffer, recording a 52% YoY jump and assisting the company in closing the month with a moderate overall growth of 2.67%, even though domestic sales of passenger and utility vehicles declined significantly due to declining demand.
The steep drop in UV sales points to increased competition in the SUV market. Although stability is being ensured by Maruti’s expanding export presence and OEM relationships, particularly with Toyota. In the future, Maruti’s reliance on strategic alliances and exports might be the key to maintaining momentum in the face of domestic obstacles.
