The brand currently accounts for about 46% of India’s total passenger vehicle exports, according to SIAM data. With the Jimny 5-door leading the way as India’s top 4×4 export model, Maruti Suzuki’s export momentum is still going strong after exporting 3.3 lakh vehicles in FY 2024–2025.
It’s interesting to note that, after the Fronx, the India-built Jimny 5-door is currently Maruti Suzuki’s second most exported vehicle. Demand soared when the model debuted in Japan in early 2025 under the “Jimny Nomade” moniker. Bookings allegedly surpassed 50,000 within days, demonstrating how effectively the SUV connected with one of the world’s most affluent auto markets.
The Jimny 5-door’s ladder frame chassis and Suzuki’s ALLGRIP PRO four-wheel-drive system are hidden beneath its erect and vintage look. A 1.5-litre, four-cylinder gasoline engine provides power. It comes with a low-range transfer case as standard and a choice between a four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki exports the Jimny and 16 other vehicles from its domestic manufacturing plants. Highlights of the kit include a 360-degree camera system, circular LED headlights, an automatic climate control system, six airbags, and a touchscreen infotainment system with networking choices.
The K15B gasoline engine has a maximum power output of 109 horsepower and a maximum torque of 136 Nm. Overall, the company’s export figures have been remarkable. Maruti Suzuki shipped more than 2 lakh cars in the first half of FY 2025–2026 alone, which was a record for a half-year period. It resulted in a huge increase of almost 40% annually.
