Surging Orders and Pending Deliveries
The brand is seeing record-breaking demand in every category it sells, with confirmed bookings over 3.50 lakh units and approximately 2.50 lakh pending deliveries. The company’s domestic sales in September experienced a brief decline, despite the fact that the demand for festive goods has reached unprecedented levels. Compared to the same month last year, dispatches decreased by 8.3% to 1,35,711 units.
Impact of Logistics Challenges
Rather than a decline in demand, the decline was ascribed to logistical challenges. Supply timetables were hindered by extended trailer turnaround cycles, especially for consignments going to southern areas. The carmaker has stated that once transportation issues are resolved, deliveries should resume their normal pace by October 10.
Victoris and Grand Vitara Drive Festive Bookings
One of the main contributions to Maruti’s order book this season has been the freshly released Victoris. The waiting period is nearly 10 weeks long because the model has already accumulated over 25,000 bookings. In addition, the Grand Vitara has maintained a high level of interest, with over 500 reservations made daily during the festive season.
SUV Growth and Small Car Comeback
As a segment, SUVs actually had a sharp increase in September. Volumes reached 1,32,820 units, and sales increased 32% over the norm for April through August. At the same time, tiny automobiles saw a huge comeback, with reservations increasing by 50% annually throughout urban areas, mostly as a result of lower costs.

Strong Export Performance
The biggest Indian automaker’s overseas shipments increased 52.2% to 42,204 units in September. Electric vehicles accounted for a significant portion of this rise, with 6,068 units shipped from the Gujarat facility in August and September combined. Production of the e-Vitara, which will soon be available locally, started only a short time ago.
On Track for Export Target
The company is on track to meet its stated export goal of 4 lakh units for the year, having shipped over 2.7 lakh vehicles overseas so far this fiscal year. With a record 1,120 units supplied in September alone, South Asia has become a particularly potent destination.
