With a sealed front fascia, a conspicuous LED lighting arrangement with a connected light bar and recognisable C-shaped signatures, the XEV 9S has its own visual character. Inside, however, the cabin adheres to Mahindra’s latest design concept, which is included in the BE 6 and XEV 9e.
The instrument display, infotainment, and co-passenger screen are combined into a three-screen arrangement spanning the dashboard. With a two-spoke steering wheel and a tidy centre console and dashboard, the interior design is relatively straightforward. The second row will have reclining seats and a boss mode for more legroom, according to Mahindra.
The XUV.e8 concept that was shown a few years ago served as a major inspiration for the overall design. Its proportions, side profile and rear silhouette all strongly resemble the XUV 700, even if its influence is clearly visible.

A huge panoramic glass canopy that covers the majority of the cabin adds to the feeling of space. It’s interesting to note that the corporation is implementing a BYOD system, which enables rear passengers to install their own tablets in designated holders, in place of fixed rear seat entertainment screens. In addition, the Mahindra XEV 9S will have an extra front storage box in addition to a standard rear boot.
The Mahindra XEV 9S will have a ton of technology and safety features. Anticipate Level 2 ADAS, six airbags by default, power-adjustable and ventilated front seats with memory, a motorised tailgate, wireless charging, connected-car features, and a high-end Harman Kardon audio system. At the official launch tomorrow, all of its specifications, variations and pricing will be made public.

The SUV is based on Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard architecture, which is already utilised for the company’s XEV 9e and BE 6 electric vehicles. It might feature a slightly different suspension tune because it’s a longer, heavier and space-conscious three-row car. The business is thought to aim for a real-world driving range that easily surpasses 500 km on a single charge, though official numbers have not yet been made public.
