The Mahindra XEV 9S launched, is the company’s first all-electric three-row SUV and is equipped with luxury features from the base model.
Mahindra XEV 9S launched: With a starting price of Rs. 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom), Mahindra has formally unveiled its new XEV 9S and announced its debut into the electric 7-seater SUV market. The flat floor layout of the XEV 9S, which is based on Mahindra’s special INGLO skateboard architecture, translates into enormous interior capacity.

Mahindra claims that the first two rows of the vehicle have almost 4,000 litres of usable space, in addition to a 527-litre boot and a 150-litre frunk. Practicality is increased with a 205 mm ground clearance and a tight 10-meter turning circle. Three battery packs (59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh) with motors capable of generating up to 210 kW and 380 Nm of torque make up the powertrain possibilities.
A driver knee airbag, Level 2+ ADAS with many radars and cameras, brake-by-wire technology, blind-spot monitoring, and intelligent emergency braking are among the up to 7 airbags available in the XEV 9S. With a 0–100 km/h sprint time of under 7 seconds and a real-world driving range of about 500 km, Mahindra claims to be the fastest electric 7-seater available in India right now.

With a DC fast charger, the battery may be charged from 20 to 80 percent in less than 20 minutes thanks to fast charging capabilities. The Mahindra XEV 9S’s interior feels more like a lounge than a typical SUV cabin. Qualcomm’s latest chipset powers the dashboard’s futuristic coast-to-coast triple-screen setup.
The package includes a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Mahindra’s MAIA AI-based interface. Higher models additionally include an advanced driver monitoring system, AutoPark Assist, and an augmented reality head-up display.
In the meantime, the seats have motorised adjustments, wireless charging, sliding and reclining capabilities, ventilation, and boss mode. Additionally, Mahindra has incorporated features like multi-zone climate control, rear sunshades, and acoustic laminated glass.
Test drives will commence on January 5, 2026, with reservations starting on January 14, 2026. Mahindra intends to start shipping on January 23, 2026. With reported operating costs of less than Rs. 1.2/km and incredibly low maintenance costs, the XEV 9S seems poised to have a significant influence on the zero-emission SUV market.
