Expanding Lineup Wins Customer Support
Customers have reacted positively to these changes. Mahindra is focusing on refreshing the 3-door vehicle to give it new energy. The carmaker is getting ready for a mid-cycle update. Before its upcoming market launch, camouflaged prototypes have been seen driving on public roads multiple times.

Spy Shots Reveal Minor Changes
The facelift has now been seen almost fully revealed, indicating that the domestic maker has begun sending it to showrooms. The spy photos, unfortunately, reveal only minor changes, challenging the belief that the upcoming Thar update will heavily borrow from the five-door Thar Roxx, especially regarding design features.

Engine and Transmission Options
Buyers can choose between manual and automatic transmissions. They will have options for the 1.5-liter diesel, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline, and 2.2-liter diesel engines. As new internal combustion engines and electric vehicles are in development, Mahindra is preparing to launch several new models in the coming years.
Exterior Design Updates
In terms of appearance, the Mahindra Thar has a distinct design. It still keeps the details we saw in the current edition. The alloy wheel design is the same inside the vehicle. The fifth alloy wheel, which was removed before, is back in this version. The brand has also added a rear wiper and washer, along with a defogger at the back.

Interior Enhancements
The interior includes new surface trims and materials. It has a wireless smartphone charging pad, a front armrest with two cup holders, and power window switches that have been moved from the central console to the doors. Additionally, it features a new multifunctional steering wheel and a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system similar to the Thar Roxx.

Feature Updates
Reverse parking cameras will definitely be included, but we do not expect modern features like an ADAS suite or a 360-degree video system. The Thar remains mostly the same underneath. Mahindra has no plans to make major changes to its ladder frame chassis, and its engine options will stay the same.

PPX Saying
The Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift is more about refinement than reinvention. With fresh cosmetic touches, added convenience features, and a bigger infotainment system, the SUV stays relevant while retaining its rugged DNA. While no mechanical changes are planned, the facelift ensures that Mahindra continues to appeal to lifestyle buyers who want modern comforts without compromising the Thar’s off-road credibility.
