Mahindra Thar 3-Door Facelift Spied Ahead Of India Launch With New Features

Mahindra Thar

The Mahindra 3-door Thar facelift is expected to undergo numerous internal and external changes before going on sale in India.

Now it’s time for Mahindra Thar 3-Door Facelift. Since its 2020 launch, Mahindra & Mahindra’s risk with the Thar has paid off successfully, making the tough off-roader one of India’s most popular lifestyle cars. The business has shrewdly broadened its lineup over the years to maintain momentum, first with the more affordable 2WD model and most recently with the introduction of the five-door Thar Roxx, both of which have been well received by consumers.

Strong Demand Fuels New Update

Because of the strong demand, the Thar’s popularity hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. Mahindra is currently concentrating on modernizing the three-door model. A mid-cycle update is being planned, and camouflaged test mules have already been seen on public roads multiple times, over five years after the second-generation vehicle was introduced.

Expected Launch Timeline

In less than a few weeks, the facelifted Thar is anticipated to debut. The change coincides with the brand’s recent unveiling of four new concepts and a next-generation platform, which demonstrate its long-term goals. Mahindra is also still testing the revised XUV700, which is scheduled to be released in early 2026.

Exterior Design Inspired By Thar Roxx

According to spy photos of the 3-door Thar facelift, Mahindra is heavily referencing the Thar Roxx’s design. The SUV’s front bumper has been completely redesigned, giving it a more powerful appearance, while the detailing on the fog light housings has been sharpened. Minor changes have also been made to the well-known grille, and Mahindra is anticipated to add the C-shaped LED lighting characteristic to further update the appearance.

New Alloys & Cosmetic Updates

To differentiate itself from the existing model, the upgraded Thar will have freshly designed alloy wheels in addition to a redesigned front fascia. It is not anticipated that Mahindra would alter the SUV’s foundation, though, as it will continue to use the same ladder-frame design and tried-and-true 1.5-, 2.0-, and 2.2-liter diesel powertrains.

Interior Upgrades & New Tech Features

A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system will take center stage on the dashboard of the facelifted Thar, marking a significant interior change. There are also suggestions of a wireless charging pad being incorporated into the redesign of the space surrounding the gear lever.

Revised Cabin & More Safety Features

The power window switches have been moved from the central console to the doors, and Mahindra has also changed the steering wheel to match the updated cockpit. There will also be more safety and convenience-related features implemented.

RouserTech Says

The Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift is a key move to keep the lifestyle SUV appealing and competitive. With design elements taken from the Thar Roxx, improved interiors, and new tech features, Mahindra wants to boost the Thar’s position in the market. While the sturdy ladder-frame setup and reliable engines stay the same, the updated look and modern cabin should attract both loyal fans and new buyers. This will help maintain strong demand as competition increases in India’s SUV market.

Now, Mahendra Thar Roxx price is down by the recent change in GST rate cut, previously it was 48% and now it has come down to 40%. As a result, the price benefited from Rs. 81200 to Rs. 1,32,900.
