The Mahindra Thar 3-Door facelift is expected to go on sale shortly in India, and it will continue to be powered by the same diesel and petrol engines.
Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing facelift variants for the Mahindra Bolero Neo & Thar 3-Door Facelift India Launch 2025, its existing SUV lineup. While the XUV700 facelift is planned for next year, the Indian SUV manufacturer will most likely introduce a mid-cycle facelift for the Thar 3-door and Bolero Neo in the coming months. Let us examine the details of the Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift and the Bolero Neo facelift.

Mahindra Bolero Neo Facelift
Bolero Neo is positioned above the basic Bolero and below the Bolero Neo Plus in the company’s semi-urban line. Bolero Neo has no actual competitors and a large fan base. The new model has been spotted for the first time, revealing anticipated design improvements on the outside.
In that regard, there do not appear to be many differences between this upgraded model and the current model. The overall silhouette stays unchanged, with its boxy charm and intimidating road presence. The alloy wheel design appears to be new, but the 15-inch size and tall-profile tyres with a 215-section width may remain the same.

The rear tail lights, high-mount stop lights, roof spoiler, tailgate-mounted spare wheel, and spare wheel cover all look similar to the present model. The front fascia is where the most differences may be detected. We can discern a slightly smaller upper grille (height-wise), with prominent horizontal slats replacing the vertical pieces.
The current model’s trapezoidal lower grille will be replaced by a horizontal design in the future 2025 Mahindra Bolero Neo. It should be noted that the single-barreled reflector chamber headlight and fog lamps have been carried over. Even the traditional antenna has been carried over.
Mahindra Thar 3-Door Facelift
The facelifted Thar will have a redesigned front fascia inspired by the larger, 5-door Thar Roxx. Expect a more prominent grille with double-stacked slats, new LED headlights with C-shaped DRLs, and a redesigned bumper. Subtle changes to the rear, including revised tail lamps, will help to recognize the updated model. A new alloy wheel will complete the outward changes, while the overall profile remains loyal to its tough beginnings.
Mechanically speaking, Mahindra is unlikely to make modifications. The facelift will retain three traditional engine options: the 1.5-litre diesel, the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel, and the 2.0-litre mStallion turbopetrol. Buyers will be able to choose between RWD and 4WD configurations, preserving the SUV’s versatility.

Earlier this year, Mahindra withdrew the convertible soft-top model. Expect the facelifted Thar to only be available in hard-top models. Bookings are planned to open immediately after launch, with delivery beginning in October.
With design improvements, a more feature-rich cabin, and tried-and-true powertrains, the 2025 Thar 3-door facelift hopes to strengthen Mahindra’s hold on India’s lifestyle SUV sector while appealing to a broader audience seeking robustness packaged.
PPX Saying
The 2025 Mahindra Thar 3-Door Facelift and Bolero Neo Facelift highlight Mahindra’s dual strategy of bolstering its lifestyle SUV range with a revamped Thar while keeping the Bolero Neo viable in the semi-urban segment. Both models retain their proven engines, providing buyers with reliability and familiarity.
The design upgrades, particularly the Thar’s LED lighting and grille influenced by the 5-door Thar Roxx, offer these SUVs a modern look while retaining their tough nature. With registrations for the Thar set to begin in October 2025, Mahindra is definitely hoping to capitalize on festive season demand.
Together, these facelifts reinforce Mahindra’s dedication to heritage-driven design and mechanical durability, while discreetly updating to meet changing consumer expectations
