The SUV segment leads in key contribution to Hyundai’s sales in India, mainly those that are locally manufactured under Rs 15 lakh.
Hyundai Sales Rise 17% Sept 2025: After the introduction of GST 2.0 in September 2025, Hyundai passed the full GST benefit to its customers. By which the price of its vehicle was reduced by Rs. 75,000, and the range shifted to Rs. 5.47 lakh – Rs. 20.96 lakh. As of now, the SUVs remain Hyundai’s primary sales drivers in India.
Locally manufactured models dominate the sales list of the top ten cars under Rs. 15 lakhs. Only SUVs contributed around 72% to total sales in September 2025, so we can say six out of ten Hyundai-made model sales in India are SUVs. With 1% Year-over-year growth, Hyundai sold 51,547 units of cars in India in September 2025 from 51,101 units in August 2025. It shows an impressive growth of 17% Month-over-month basis compared to last month’s sales of 2025, which were 44,001 units.

According to the latest data, Creta from Hyundai became the Best-selling model in September 2025 with 18,861 units of Monthly sales, which is an increase of 18% Month-over-month growth from 15,924 units in August 2025. It also possesses a massive 19% Year-over-year growth from 15,902 units in September 2024. The Hyundai Creta was launched 10 years ago in India and continues to lead Hyundai’s SUV lineup with its growth as 51,683 units sold in Q3 of 2025, which is a growth of 3.34% and has a 37% Share of Hyundai’s total sales in Q3.
Next in the list is Venue, which is the second-best-selling Hyundai model, also showed a 12% Year-over-year growth with 11,484 units sold in September 2025 from 10,259 units in September 2024 and a Month-over-month growth of 42% from 8,109 units in August 2025. Quarterly result shows a 1.91% year-over-year decline from 28,184 units in Q3 of 2024 to 27,647 units in 2025.

Exter is also a major contributor to overall Hyundai sales in September 2025, with 5,643 units sold. With a Year-over-year decline of 18% sales (from 6,908 units in September 2024 and 11% Month-over-month growth from 5061 units in August 2025. Its Q3 result declined with19.40% on a year-over-year basis.
Talking about the next contender in the list is the Hyundai Aura, which sold 5,387 units in September 2025 with 21% Year-over-year growth from 4,462 units in September 2024. It possesses only 1% growth on a Month-over-month basis, but the quarter 3 result looks good as it has sales of 15,359 units with 13.58% growth on a year-over-year basis and also shows that there is Consistent demand in the compact sedan segment.
Hyundai Grand i10 sales 4,238 units in September 2025 with a decline of 17% on a Year-over-year basis from 5,103 units in September 2024, but 8% positive growth on a Month-over-month basis from 3,908 units in August 2025. Grand i10 Nios Q3 result shows a 23.94% decline on a year-over-year basis, which shares the build-up Platform with the Hyundai Aura.

Hyundai i20 sales were 3,884 units in September 2025, with a decline of 12% YoY but 7% growth on a MoM basis. Q3 results are in decline with 23.56% on YoY because the market has shifted to SUV demand. Hyundai Alcazar, Verna, Tucson and Ioniq 5 show a decline in growth of 12% from 4,428 units, 54% from 2,712 units, 39% from 1,198 units, 13% from 98 units and 81% from 31 units, respectively.
SUV models contributed over two-thirds of Hyundai’s total sales, while Hatchbacks and sedans showed overall volume contraction in India, as Market trends shifted from small cars to compact SUVs after GST 2.0 revisions.
