The Honda Prelude, the company’s latest sports coupe recently went on sale in Japan, is also anticipated in 2026. Although it has a 2+2 seating arrangement, only young children should use its narrow rear. It has the same 181-horsepower hybrid drivetrain as the ZR-V and can reach a high speed of 188 km/h, but it takes 8.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. It also has an inherent fuel economy advantage due to its body design, returning 23.6 km/l (WLTC).
Between the HR-V and CR-V lies the ZR-V, a global small SUV. India is anticipated to receive it with a 2.0-litre gasoline engine-based hybrid drivetrain producing 181 horsepower.
Honda will probably introduce the 0 Alpha SUV in India in early 2027, after the ZR-V and Prelude. The 0 Alpha, which will be produced locally, will be the company’s first electric vehicle in our market. In terms of cost, it is anticipated to be positioned significantly higher than the majority of its competitors, although it may compete with models like the Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti e-Vitara in certain segments.
The Honda 0 SUV, a car built to rival the Tesla car Y, is anticipated to follow the Honda 0 Alpha. As a brand-building niche model in the company’s Indian lineup, the 0 SUV will be imported as a CBU from the United States, in contrast to the 0 Alpha.
India will probably receive the latest generation Honda CR-V in a year from now. Honda could need to improve the Tapukara (Rajasthan) facility in order to import and assemble the CKD kits for the next-generation CR-V from Japan. This vehicle will probably only be available with the company’s recently developed hybrid drivetrain, which is based on a brand-new 2.0-litre gasoline engine.
Honda is expected to introduce the locally produced next-generation City in petrol and hybrid versions in India sometime in the first half of 2028, following the 0 SUV. This time, the hybrid version will be heavily localised.
