Hero Mavrick 440 Set for Comeback with Premium Upgrades

In the next days, the Mavrick 440 is expected to return to the Indian market, although with more contemporary, high-end, and upscale features.

Hero Mavrick 440 Set for Comeback with Premium Upgrades: Hero MotoCorp has quietly removed its flagship model, the Mavrick 440, from the Indian market, as we previously informed you. It was thought that the roadster bike, which was based on the Harley-Davidson X440, was being phased out due to low sales. However, during its TVC shoot, a newer, undisguised version of the motorcycle was spotted with contemporary characteristics. Therefore, it is very likely that the 2025 Hero Mavrick 440 is getting ready for its Indian market debut in the next few days.

Timeline and Pricing of the Previous Model

After its February 2024 launch, Hero Mavrick 440 operated for around 18 months before the company decided to discontinue it. It was priced between Rs 1.99 and Rs 2.24 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and came in three trim levels: Base, Mid, and Top. Hero removed several high-end features from the bike to purposefully lower the price compared to the X440.

Strategy Shift Toward Premium Features

But this tactic of leaving out high-end features like the matte finish, USD forks, and TFT dash, among others, backfired for the firm, as the Mavrick 440 hardly attracted any buyers. Hero has therefore added all of these features to the 2025 Mavrick 440 in what seems to be a course correction, and the Indian market may soon see its release.

Spy Photos Reveal Major Design Upgrades

According to the spy photos, the 2025 Hero Mavrick 440 will have USD front forks in a golden hue rather than the telescopic suspension found on the current model. In addition, instead of the black unit of the previous model, it was shown in a new matte grey colour with a bronze/copper engine cover.

Engine, Performance, and Key Specs

Fundamentally, it would still make use of the current 440cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled gasoline engine, which produces a maximum output of 27 horsepower and a maximum torque of 36 Nm when connected to a 6-speed gearbox. The 2025 Hero Mavrick 440, which is mounted on a trellis frame, has dual-channel ABS and disc brakes on both ends. The base trim has 17-inch spoke wheels, while the mid and top grades have 17-inch alloy wheels.

EICMA 2024 Model Similarities

The model displayed at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy, is similar to these two significant improvements on the 2025 Mavrick 440. A direct descendant of the Harley-Davidson X440, the roadster that was presented at the event last year was also equipped with a TFT display. However, it is impossible to determine whether the unit captured on video has a TFT display because these pictures were taken from a distance.
