2026 Jeep Recon Unveiled: The brand’s first all-electric vehicle, specifically designed for the trail, is the 2026 Jeep Recon. At least on paper, it adheres to the brand’s origins while packing significant numbers. The SUV can accelerate from a stop to 96 kmph in just 3.6 seconds thanks to its 650 horsepower and instantaneous 840 Nm of torque, which is nearly unbelievable for a vehicle with large 33-inch tyres.

The recognisable seven-slot grille now has strong U-shaped daytime running lights in addition to lighted outlines. The Recon has a dual-pane roof, swing-gate and rear quarter windows, detachable doors, a rear-mounted spare and tail lamps that resemble Wranglers. The horizontal dashboard features a modular accessory rail for cameras or navigation devices, scratch-resistant texturing and a noticeable grip.
Depending on the trim, Jeep claims a range of up to 402 kilometres; however, capability is prioritised over efficiency. With a front and rear electric drive module, each rated at 250 kW, the business designed the Recon on a specific electric architecture. In order to multiply torque for slow and tricky crawling, the Moab trim even receives a shorter 15:1 rear final drive ratio.

The centre console has two storage levels: a deep compartment for bulkier goods and a wireless charging shelf above it. There is a small front trunk that can accommodate a carry-on suitcase and the back seats fold to provide 1,866 litres of cargo capacity. Capri synthetic upholstery and recycled components in the headliner and carpets are examples of interior materials.
While the front axle employs an open differential with wheel-end disconnects to save drag on smoother roads, an automatic locking rear differential guarantees that both rear wheels pull together when required. The Recon’s specification sheet looks like it belongs to an experienced off-roader with approach, breakover and departure angles of 33.8, 23.3 and 33.1 degrees, respectively and 9.1 inches of ground clearance.
After Jeep’s design team visited the national park, an interior theme inspired by Joshua trees was created for the Moab trim. The Toluca facility in Mexico will start producing the 2026 Recon early in the following year. The first releases will take place in the US and Canada, with a more extensive worldwide timetable to follow.

The largest single-screen Jeep has ever installed, a 12.3-inch driver monitor and a 14.5-inch touchscreen, dominate the cabin. The interface is powered by Uconnect 5 and features like extended EV pages, integrated Trails Off-road statistics and Dynamic Range Mapping provide useful tools. In order to provide a clear soundtrack even when the doors are closed, Alpine audio systems are standard with speakers placed beneath the seats.
