The Prelude’s exterior incorporates subtle yet high-end features like flush door handles, black-chrome grille louvres and a sculpted roofline that pays homage to vintage coupes. Inside, the cockpit combines sportiness and sophistication with features like a D-shaped steering wheel, two-tone white-and-blue upholstery and full-graphic digital meters that are exclusive to the Prelude.
With Honda’s cutting-edge e:HEV hybrid technology, which combines an electric motor with a gasoline engine, the all-new Prelude is built for the modern era and offers lively performance without sacrificing everyday practicality.
The design, which has a low front nose, clean side lines and a wide stance that suggests both poise and agility, clearly reflects Honda’s new grand concept for the car, “Unlimited Glide,” which aims to evoke the feel of a glider, i.e., smooth, flowing and dynamically graceful.
Additionally, it has 19-inch wheels, high-capacity Brembo front brakes and Agile Handling Assist, which modifies steering and braking inputs to help stabilise the vehicle in turns. Honda has included its SENSING suite, which has been calibrated especially for the Prelude, to improve safety.
The Civic Type R’s chassis is borrowed from the Prelude beneath the sheet metal. This provides it with a solid handling base and Honda adds an adjustable damping system (ADS) and a dual-axis front suspension to provide a crisp yet elegant ride.

Given the car’s niche character and the comparatively low demand for a two-door hybrid coupe, Honda has started selling the new Prelude in Japan, where production is already in progress. As for India, the most likely approach is through CBU import.
The S+ Shift mode, which uses paddle shifters, engine sound modulation and simulated rev-matching to simulate manual gear shifts, is one of the most intriguing technological features. Although the transmission is not a conventional manual, this system is intended to maintain driver engagement, which is crucial for a model that draws heavily from Honda’s sporty heritage.
