According to reports, Apple intends to include under-display Face ID sensors in a hole-punch camera cutout for its iPhone 18 Pro versions. The iPhone 20 series, which is anticipated to ship in 2027, may include front-facing camera sensors and in-display Face ID, according to a tipster.
Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) revealed that Apple intends to release their alleged range of smartphones with under-display cameras in 2027 in a post on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging platform. It is widely anticipated that the Cupertino tech titan will release its 20th anniversary phones as part of the iPhone 20 series in the year above.
This implies that solid-state buttons may replace mechanical ones in phone lineups. The solid-state buttons feel like clicks rather than moving, producing a localised haptic stimulation. Nevertheless, unlike current-generation iPhone models with mechanical buttons, the power, action, and volume control buttons are immobile. This is supposed to increase the handsets’ water resistance and longevity.
