All-New Bajaj Chetak EV Spotted Testing Ahead of Launch: An upgraded version of the Chetak electric scooter is about to be released in the Indian market by Bajaj Auto. We may anticipate that it will be available for purchase in the Indian market by the middle of 2026; however, it is too soon to speculate on the precise launch date. This is a significant update since the two-wheeler manufacturer gained a significant position in the EV market with this model. The next iteration of the electric scooter was initially shown to us before the company made any formal announcement. We get a preview of the upcoming model from the test mule dressed in camouflage. The model initially receives the same silhouette as the existing model. Nonetheless, several components give it a novel appearance.
Although the side body panels seem to have been modified, it’s hard to tell because of the extensive use of camouflage. The seat is much flatter now, but the back grip rail appears to be unaltered. Regarding the front, the DRLs and LED headlights are similar to those on the present model. The term “Chetak” has taken the place of the Chetak insignia in the headlight housing. The handlebar region now houses the turn indicators that were previously located on the apron.

The new-generation Bajaj Chetak’s powertrain is probably going to stick with the current 3 kWh and 3.5 kWh battery packs, which have a 150 km maximum range between charges. The rear LED taillights have undergone a thorough overhaul to combine LED turn signals and brake lights into a single unit. Minor changes have been made to the number plate holder, and a rear tyre hugger is now visible. A charging connection located at the back may be concealed by a flap or relocated to the front apron area.

Keyless ignition and a TFT display are absent from this variant. Rather, it seems to have a novel, non-circular LCD instrument cluster. Additionally, the switchgear has been upgraded. The distinctive single-sided suspension featured in all Chetak versions has been replaced with conventional twin telescopic forks at the front and rear twin shocks (not officially confirmed), and the sleek ORVM stalks are missing from this version.
