Skoda recorded sales of 6.636K units in September, more than double the 3.301K units sold in the same month last year.
Skoda Volkswagen Sep 2025 Sales Analysis: With a total of 9,416 units cars sold across both major brands at the end of September, Volkswagen Group India recorded one of its most balanced months of 2025. Combining the Volkswagen and Skoda brands, the group recorded a 41% year-on-year growth primarily driven by stable sales of Skoda’s recently released Kyalaq SUV and Volkswagen’s Virtus and Taigun.

Skoda Slavia, Kushaq and Kodiaq sales
The Slavia saw a consistent 33% month-on-month growth, while Kushaq and Slavia saw year-on-year declines of 56% and 4%, respectively. With sales of 130 units, the Kodiaq premium SUV actully showed signs of recovery, with the 73% month-on-month improvement. The Octavia is no longer in it’s lineup and the Superb have been temporarily discontinued. Skoda is now clearly focusing on SUVs more and sales of the new Octavia RS will commence soon.
Volkswagen Golf and Tiguan sales
Despite its smaller size, Tiguan quadrupled its monthly sales, selling 17 units. In last month, sales of the performance-oriented Golf GTI, which imported in small quantities, were very low. In addition to cosmetic upgrades and new technologies like a Level 2 ADAS system, Skoda and Volkswagen are now working on facelifted versions of the Kushaq and Taigun.
In contrast, Volkswagen reported sales of 2,780 unit in September a slight decline of 18% year-on-year basis. Nevertheless sales are increasing 2% sequentially, which often signals market stability or growth for the brand during the festive season in India. With 1,648 units the Virtus sedan remained mainstay of Volkswagen’s sales, while the Taigun midsize SUV added 1,114 units a 11% increase from August.
The Skoda Octavia RS
Official bookings for Octavia RS opened a few days ago, with the down payment of Rs. 2.5 lakh. In just 20 minute, the first lot of 100 units was pre-booked; pricing will be announced on October 17.

The pair also saw a 22% month-on-month growth compared with August. With the total of 6,636 units sold in September compared to 3,301 units in the same month last year, the Czech carmaker more than doubled it’s performance. The Kylok sold 4,398 units domestically, reflecting positive customer response.
