In India, the Tata Nexon topped the list of the top ten small SUVs in September 2025, surpassing Punch, Fronx, Venue, and Brezza.
Top 10 Highest Selling Compact SUVs: It’s no secret that consumers in India are still interested in the small SUV market, and September 2025 was no exception. With 22,573 units sold, almost twice as many as during the same period last year, the Tata Nexon once again seized the lead and was the most popular passenger car in the nation.

Tata Nexon – Best Selling SUV
The SUV’s 97% annual growth shows its ongoing appeal, which is emphasised by frequent feature updates, strong safety ratings, affordable prices, and a wide range of variants. The Tata Punch finished in second place with 15,891 units, a 16 percent increase over the same period in 2024.
Fronx, Venue, and Brezza Performance
This resulted in a slight 1% annual decrease. Fourth place went to the Hyundai Venue, which increased by 12% to 11,484 units overall. With extensive interior and exterior upgrades, the next-generation Venue is scheduled to go on sale on November 4. It will still be powered by the well-known 1.2L NA gasoline, 1.5L diesel, and 1.0L turbo diesel engines. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza saw a significant decline, selling 10,173 units overall, a 34% decrease from September 2024.

Tata Punch Retains Second Spot
It is one of the primary drivers of monthly volume sales for the domestic manufacturer, and its small size and ease of manoeuvrability have made it especially appealing to first-time SUV buyers. Third place went mostly unaffected by the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which shipped 13,767 cars domestically.
Hyundai Exter, Skoda Kushaq, and Toyota Taisor
Sales of the Hyundai Exter dropped 18% to 5,643 units. With 4,398 units sold, the Skoda Kylaq came in tenth place among the top 10 small SUVs sold in September 2025. With 2,297 units, Toyota Taisor closed in the top 10, a tiny increase of 1%.

Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO Sales
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza saw a significant decline, selling 10,173 units overall, a 34% decrease from September 2024. Next, the Mahindra XUV 3XO remained stable at 9,032 units in seventh place against 9,000 units with nearly flat growth, while the Kia Sonet sold 9,200 units last month, a 13 percent volume reduction.
