New Models and Electric Plans Underway
As new models and facelifts are anticipated, test mules have begun appearing all over the nation, affecting both traditional and EV portfolios with receiving changes. A new, compact SUV that will sit below the XUV400 and appeal to consumers seeking an affordable EV is part of Mahindra’s plans to expand its electric vehicle inventory.
Mahindra XUV 700 Facelift
In addition, the facelifted Mahindra XUV 700 is being developed in preparation for its early 2026 market debut. In contrast to the recently updated three-door Thar, Bolero, and Bolero Neo, it will receive significant improvements. Multiple camera tests have also shown the XUV.e8 concept production three-row e-SUV, which draws heavily from the XUV 700 itself.

Mahindra Vision S Moving Toward Production
With spy photos showing a near-final prototype undergoing testing, Mahindra’s Vision S is getting closer to going into production. When the SUV was first displayed at the Freedom_NU showcase in Mumbai, it immediately caught people’s attention with its upright posture and design approach influenced by the Scorpio N. The majority of that visual appeal appears to be retained in the test mule.
Mahindra Vision S Launch Timeline
A launch date sometime next year seems more plausible as development seems to be nearing completion. It’s unclear exactly when the Vision S will go on sale because Mahindra has stated that SUVs powered by the new NU_IQ architecture won’t be available until 2027. It is anticipated that the small SUV would use the same set of engines as the XUV 3XO when it debuts.
