Hero Splendor Continues to Dominate
With 3,11,698 units sold, the Hero Splendor topped the chart, demonstrating its unchallenged domination once more. The commuter-friendly motorcycle’s sales increased by almost 9,000 units over the previous year, which is evidence of its dependability and affordability.
Honda Activa Maintains Scooter Leadership
Honda’s Activa, which came in second, maintained its dominance in the scooter market with 2,44,271 units, a remarkable increase of more than 16,000 units. Many families and first-time customers find it to be an obvious choice due to its broad appeal across demographics, ease of riding, and great brand recall. It continues to be Honda’s top seller, maintaining its dominance in the fiercely competitive scooter market.
Honda Shine Faces Decline but Holds Rank

Remarkably, Honda’s Shine had a decline, falling more than 11,000 units in August 2024. With 1,63,963 units, it maintained its third-place ranking in spite of this drop. The Shine, positioned as a little more expensive commuter, is still popular among city dwellers and office workers, although this year’s growth has been somewhat hampered by increased competition in the 125 cc market.
TVS Jupiter Records Massive Growth
One of TVS’s greatest success stories this month was the Jupiter, which sold 1,42,411 units, a staggering 59% increase from the previous year. The increase of more than 53,000 units demonstrates how TVS has increased its market share in the family scooter segment. Bajaj’s Pulsar portfolio also performed well, selling 1,09,382 units, a sharp 61% increase over the previous year.
TVS Apache Gains Popularity Among Performance Riders

Additionally, the TVS Apache series performed well, selling 45,038 units compared to 30,038 during the same time last year. Its appeal among cyclists who prioritise performance is demonstrated by its 50% rise. While Suzuki’s Access saw a slight decline last month, HF Deluxe and Access both produced consistent figures.

PPX Saying
Reliable commuting bikes and scooters continue to dominate the Indian market, according to the August 2025 two-wheeler sales report. Hero Splendor is still the most dependable and reasonably priced motorcycle in the nation, and Honda Activa is still the best scooter with growing sales. Family scooters are becoming increasingly popular, as evidenced by the incredible rise of the TVS Jupiter and the continued strong presence of the Honda Shine, despite a decline.
TVS Apache and Bajaj Pulsar have demonstrated their increasing appeal to performance fans, broadening the market’s appeal. Demand is expected to increase further in the upcoming months due to the benefits of the GST 2.0 tax and the impending holiday season, which will support the resilience and expansion of the two-wheeler industry in India.
