The new Nissan midsize SUV will go on sale by the middle of next year, and in India, it will give way to a seven-seater version in 2027.
Given that its new compact MPV, which is scheduled for release early next year, will be constructed on the same CMF-A+ platform as the Renault Triber, Nissan is preparing for a significant product attack in India. A new C-segment SUV that shares its foundation with the future Renault Duster and a three-row variant that is slated to debut in 2027 will follow closely behind.

Nissan’s Product Strategy in India
Nissan is struggling to increase sales of its single product, but over the course of the next 12 to 24 months, it will greatly expand its range, with the C-SUV playing a major role. It will compete with vehicles such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and the recently launched Victoris, as well as the Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
Spy Shots and Exterior Design

The five-seater will be released by the middle of next year, and we’ve shown you the most recent spy photos of it after it was spotted testing on public roads for the first time last month. The midsize SUV has already been teased a few times by the Japanese manufacturer, and the prototype maintains the teaser’s design components.
Road Presence and Styling
A flat and upright attitude at the front is seen in spy photos. The black alloy wheels with a star pattern, the squared-off arches that give it a strong stance, the boxy rear profile with an integrated spoiler, and accents like a high-mounted stop lamp and a shark-fin antenna are what really make it stand out. It does have a pleasing appearance on the road.
Proportions and Lighting Details
The SUV has a spacious glasshouse thanks to its tall pillars, modestly tapered roofline, and sharply slanted windshield. C-shaped air intakes on the bumper flank the svelte LED headlights with inverted L-shaped turn indicators up front, and a skid plate gives the vehicle a tough appearance. Rectangular LED tail lamps and a large bumper are visible at the rear.

Nissan’s Global Design Influence
With several horizontal slats at the front and a light bar beneath the aggressive bonnet structure, the grille will adhere to Nissan’s most recent design philosophy, which is admired throughout the world. The spiritual successor to the Terrano will have unique features on the inside and out, even if it will share many characteristics with the next-generation Duster.
Features & Technology
With features like a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android integration, Level 2 ADAS, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, six airbags as standard, TPMS, a fully digital instrument console, and more, it will sit outside of the highly localized CMF-B+ architecture. Prior to the release of a hybrid option, Nissan is anticipated to first introduce the C-SUV with small capacity gasoline engines.
PPX Saying
Nissan is finally making a strong comeback in India with its new midsize SUV in 2026 and a 7-seater version in 2027. With bold styling, advanced safety, and premium features, it is poised to challenge segment leaders like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. If Nissan prices it right and adds the hybrid option, this SUV could be the brand’s breakthrough in the Indian market.
