Nissan Confirms Three New Models for India: B-MPV in 2026, Duster-Based C-SUV, and 7-Seater SUV by 2027

Nissan Midsize SUV

The launch of the B-MPV will be followed by a Duster-based midsized SUV in the second half of 2026 and a 7-seater full-sized model in early 2027

According to MD Saurabh Vatsa, Nissan India new launches would introduce three brand-new cars within the next 12 to 15 months. This will comprise a 7-seater full-sized SUV in early 2027, a compact MPV in Q1 2026, and a mid-sized SUV based on a Duster in the second half of 2026. We think that the B-segment MPV and C-segment SUV, which the business has previously hinted to on social media, will both be available for purchase in 2026. In the Indian market, Nissan currently sells the X-trail and Magnite SUV models.

1. New Nissan 7-seater SUV

Finally, in early 2027, Nissan plans to launch a seven-seater variant of the five-seater C-SUV in the Indian market. It won’t be just “a plus-2 configuration, but a very different vehicle and engineered to be a proper 7-seater,” Saurabh Vatsa clarified. Similar to how the 5-seater model is based on the Renault Duster, the seven-seater three-row Nissan SUV will be built on the Renault Boreal.

2. Nissan New 7-Seater B-MPV for India

Nissan B-MPV

Later this year or early in 2026, Nissan’s brand-new 7-seater B-MPV will make its global debut. According to the teaser, it would adopt Nissan’s own design philosophy and feature a powerful SUV with a C-shaped front grille. The new Nissan MPV will compete directly with the Renault Triber and be locally developed at the company’s Chennai location.

The next Nissan MPV will have the same cabin and amenities as the Magnite, which is supported by the CMF-A+ architecture. For those who are curious, the CMF-A+ platform is a significantly modified version of the CMF-A architecture from Kwid. A 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual or AMT gearbox options is probably going to power it. The corporation may add a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine and CVT gearbox to the top-end models.

In the second half of 2026, Nissan’s mid-sized SUV based on the Duster will be introduced in our nation. The firm has formally declared that the most recent Nissan Patrol, which is offered in a number of international regions, would serve as the model for the exterior design of the C-SUV. The new midsize SUV will be feature-rich and boast a high approach and departure angle to accommodate Indian road conditions, the Japanese automaker claimed.

Additionally, Nissan has often stated that the new Duster-based C-segment SUV, which is built on the CMF-B platform, will be produced locally at the Chennai site and shipped to a number of foreign markets. It will be the second Nissan vehicle after the Magnite to be manufactured in India and distributed to over 65 countries in both right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive versions, in keeping with the brand’s “One Car, One World” philosophy.

The new Nissan D-SUV has more features than its Renault equivalent. However, it will share the Boreal’s platform, engine, and other mechanical components. However, since Renault has promised to provide the powerful hybrid technology in Duster and Boreal to India, it is unclear if Nissan will choose to use the powerful hybrid drivetrain.

Nissan’s multi-year product strategy indicates a significant return to India with a focus on localization and global design. With its Patrol-inspired design, the C-SUV will compete in one of the most popular segments, the 7-seater full-sized SUV will bolster Nissan’s luxury position, and the B-MPV will capitalize on the rising demand for reasonably priced 7-seaters.

The “One Car, One World” approach—Nissan’s choice to manufacture models in Chennai and ship them to more than 65 nations—is noteworthy. This demonstrates faith in India as a major world center.

These launches may have a greater advantage in terms of pricing and competitiveness as a result of GST 2.0 making cars more affordable. This portfolio offers customers value, contemporary design, and worldwide dependability in a variety of market niches.
