Yamaha to Unveil New Two-Wheeler in India on November 11: XSR 155 or NMAX 155 EV?

Yamaha India has sent out “Block Your Date” media invites throughout the nation to confirm the release of a new model on November 11.

On November 11, 2025, the Yamaha XSR 155 and NMAX 155 Electric Scooter will be introduced to the nation. Without disclosing the model’s name, the company sent out “Block Your Date” invitations for the same. The XSR 155, which was seen tested on Indian roads for the first time last week, is thought to be an addition to the Japanese automaker’s 150cc motorcycle lineup. But it’s also thought that Yamaha, which is situated on the River Indie, may introduce its first electric scooter, NMAX 155for India.

1. Yamaha XSR 155 Launch India

The XSR 155 was recently seen on camera with a red license plate and extensive concealment, suggesting that it is, in fac,t being considered for the Indian market. The circular LED headlight, powerful exhaust pipe, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, front USD suspension setup, and LED tail-lamp cluster are all standard roadster features on the neo-retro bike.

Additionally, the spotted photos showed that the Yamaha XSR 155 has alloy wheels, a single-piece flat seat, and a sleek rear profile with LED turn indicators. Specifically, the alloy units appeared to have been taken from the FZ-X. On the other hand, the alloy wheels of the global-spec XSR 155 are designed differently. It has disc brakes on both ends and shares a frame with the R15 V4.

The XSR 155’s circular instrument cluster, 17-inch wheels, and rear monoshock suspension are some of its other noteworthy features. The 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled gasoline engine, which produces a maximum power of 18.1 bhp and a maximum torque of 14 Nm, powers it. A 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch is mated to the engine.

2. Yamaha Electric Scooter NMAX 155 Launch in India

Although the latest sighting of the XSR 155 suggests that it would be released soon, it is impossible to completely rule out Yamaha releasing its first electric scooter, the NMAX 155, in India. The business had previously said that by the end of 2025, its e-scooter—which was created in partnership with River Mobility—would be ready. Therefore, the Indie-based electric scooter may potentially be the new model that launches on November 11.

It is known by the code designation RY01 and has been seen several times in and around Bengaluru as a test mule. The 14-inch wheels, 6-inch colored LCD display, and swingarm are some of the features that Yamaha’s NMAX 155 will take from the River Indie. Nonetheless, the e-scooter will continue to be unique in terms of body panels, design, and additional storage spaces.

Because of its large size, the River Indie is referred to as the “SUV of scooters.” With a weight of 143 kg, it is also the heaviest e-scooter. The Yamaha NMAX 155 electric scooter, on the other hand, is marketed as being lighter and more traditional. The Yamaha NMAX 155 electric scooter has a range of more than 100 kilometers on a single charge, and the two models may share the 4 kWh battery pack.
